The New Year is a popular time to start a home renovation project, so it is a good idea to be clued up on the latest trends. This year we have seen some trends stick around, such as dark blue or black cabinetry, while new decorative design ideas are making their way through to provide unique personalisation. Whether you are looking for the latest kitchen colour trends or kitchen storage trends we provide a round-up of what to look out for in 2025.

Framing
Framing is a clever way to highlight a feature in your kitchen. Recently we’ve seen cabinets featuring metal inlays that create a border around doors. Gold and brass inlays make a stunning and decorative detail when contrasted with bold shades. Appliance ‘picture frames’ are a new feature in kitchens. These units can frame triple and double appliances in different colours and materials such as quartz and granite, while incorporating LED lighting to put your appliances in the spotlight. Mixing textures
Consumers are becoming braver and more creative when it comes to their kitchen by adding different colour combinations, and textures to their space. We’ve seen a rise in the popularity of ribbed doors, fluted glass and wooden panel feature walls in kitchens. These artistic textures are used to highlight focal points and features and to break up uniform designs. For 2025 we will continue to see these textures being incorporated in kitchens.

Tiered islands
We’ve created islands in all shapes and sizes incorporating a manner of different appliances, and seating areas, such as integrated curved booths, as well as breakfast bars, but islands are taking on new levels. Breakfast bars are being lowered or raised above worktops, and recessed into the island. Extra worktops using different materials, are also raised or lowered to create defined areas for food prep and seating. For those wanting a multi-dimensional island, tiered islands are the way to go.

Large storage features
While islands are a firm favourite in nearly all of the kitchens we create, other storage features are becoming increasingly sought after. Large, impressive bar units to store bar essentials and drinks are being crafted for open plan living. This wow feature provides a convenient way for property owners to entertain and impress guests in their home. Pantry units are another luxury feature that will continue to be on kitchen bucket lists next year, offering the perfect space to organise many food essentials and small appliances.

Bi-fold units on worktops
When cabinets sit on worktops, doors that open out can often take up room you might not want to lose. The latest trend that provides a solution to this, is vertical bi-fold units. These doors are ideal for tight, awkward spaces as they fold neatly to one side. When shut they conceal small household appliances such as toasters and blenders or can be used for dedicated breakfast cupboards to hide cereals and spreads.

Moody hues
Rich colours such as dark blues, forest and emerald greens and black provide sophistication in any kitchen, and make the perfect backdrop for gold or brass handless. Contrasting bold, moody hues with metals or light tones allows for a luxurious feel in the home. The trend for these colours and combinations has been dominating for some time and they are here to stay well into 2025. What is new however is ‘double drenching’, the latest trend that uses two related colours. For those who want to create drama in their kitchen, use one tone on cabinets and drench walls in a related colour.

Warm neutrals
For 2024 we predicted warm neutrals would reign, and they did. Shades such as cream, soft pink, taupe, greige and beige are just some of the neutrals seen in kitchen design. These homey, timeless tones suit any style of home and create a soothing environment you’ll enjoy spending time in. Long may these colours feature in the kitchen!

Comfy booths
Whilst dining tables and breakfast bars provide dedicated areas for dining and socialising, comfy booths are also proving popular. These booths are commonly curved and integrated into ends of islands offering a more relaxed eating spot. Booth seating also provides a way to add different materials and softer textures into your kitchen design.
