The brief
The owner of this large property, was completely refurbishing her home, with a new master en-suite bathroom playing a key part in this. Taking inspiration from regular visits to top hotels around the world, the client wanted to bring that element of luxury into her own residence with a practical, spa-like design which offered the pinnacle of relaxation.
The solution
Continuing with a similar style to the newly refurbished kitchen, Stoneham’s Fahrenheit range was utilised throughout the luxury bathroom design. A bespoke, horizontal grain walnut vanity unit has been built to fill a large space against one of the walls. The unit is topped with Deep Cloud Corian continuing the theme of wood being complemented by sophisticated smooth stone seen elsewhere in the property. This natural element creates a warm and welcoming feel, which is enhanced further by the subtle glow of Sensio DuoFlex underlighting.
The five-star hotel inspiration is clearly noticeable as soon as you enter this luxury bathroom, with a fabulous slipper bath acting as the centrepiece for the design. This is cleverly colour-matched with a pair of basins built into the bespoke unit, creating a consistent and unified space. In addition to the bath, a spacious arched aromatherapy steam room has been installed in the corner of the room, featuring enough seating space for multiple people and stunning twinkle lights in the ceiling. These luxury features create a real sense of escapism, allowing the client to take a break from the routine of everyday life, as if she really were holidaying in a five-star hotel.
While this desire for a relaxing space was at the forefront of the brief, it was also essential to ensure that the design was practical. This too has been carefully considered; above the main unit are two mirrored cabinets which are well lit for clear visibility. The combination of the cabinets and the unit means there’s plenty of storage space for all the family’s bathroom essentials.
