The brief:
The developers of this new-build in Surrey requested a highly functional family kitchen with the warmth of real timber. Balancing space, style and functionality was key to create a modern kitchen that would be loved, and used, by a family for years to come, and inspire potential buyers to make the house a home.
The solution:
A mix of timber from the Ambience range in walnut and the high gloss Infinity combined to create a sense of warmth and longevity in the modern room design.
This was echoed in a simple yet striking colour scheme, with classic walnut wood, modern white and a pop of purple from the Aubergine glass splashback above the integrated hob. An integrated extractor hidden behind the wall unit above retains the clean lines of the design.
The large breakfast bar area, with plenty of room for guests and family to sit, forms the focal point of the design. A hardworking, multifunctional area, the island combines a space for food preparation, an impressive amount of storage and, of course, the kitchen sink. The timber breakfast bar provides a seamless transition from the prep zone to dining perfection.
By using Stoneham’s TT trim the design permits clean lines without compromising excellent functionality when opening the large fridge and freezer doors and other pull out interiors. This is a multifunctional kitchen built for family life.
Further functionality, with a nod to ease of use and sleek style, can be found in the bank of appliances opposite the central island. This incorporates two ovens, one a combination steam oven, and microwave, into the wall-to-ceiling high gloss cabinetry for a unified, sleek look.
The final touch? LED lighting integrated beneath wall units in the soffit panels, to create the right ambience for dining, cooking and living.
