For the owners of this new-build home in Keston, Kent, the goal was to create an open-plan kitchen to suit the style of the house. With a large room to work with, complete with dining space and lounge, it was essential to create an area which transitioned smoothly between cooking, eating and relaxing. Favouring a sleek and modern aesthetic, the client wanted to incorporate contrasting materials for a fresh and stylish design.
A combination of Stoneham’s Holwood and Infinity ranges were chosen for the furniture, blending key features from both collections to create an ultra-modern kitchen. The textured grain of the on-trend grey-brown shade of Anthracite Oak adds warmth and appeal, with the ceiling height cabinets making the most of the pitched roof, as well as providing ample storage for a bustling family home.
In a powerful contrast against the dark oak, the hi-gloss Infinity cabinets in Snow are especially striking, having been incorporated into both the main cabinetry and the kitchen’s showpiece; the island. As well as providing the perfect spot for dining with friends and family, the addition of extra storage space creates a stunning focal point which is both practical and multi-functional. Topped with a 30mm Silestone worktop and with a built-in breakfast bar, the classic kitchen island is brought into the 21st century, with integrated LED lighting underneath the worktop providing an ambient glow.
Subtle unique details by Stoneham provide the finishing touch; triple-layer columns and matching cornice, an integrated hob and a built-in extractor fan create the sleek and sophisticated silhouette specified by the client. With handle-less cabinets and sharp, smart lines featuring throughout, the overall look is complemented by cool white unit lighting, innovative LED technology and a trio of pendant lights illuminating the central island.
The result? A truly contemporary and cohesive design, ideal for modern open-plan family living.
