For Mr and Mrs Price, an open-plan kitchen that suited the style of this beautiful Art Deco house in Kent was the goal. A sleek, modern design with unique touches was required, and with a large, L-shaped room to work with, it was vital to create an area perfect for cooking, eating and relaxing. The client also wanted a minimalist colour scheme; only monochrome would do.
After a long search to find the perfect kitchen, reputation and flexibility led the clients to choose the Stoneham Kitchens Flow range in High Gloss White. With clean lines and a sleek design, it was the right match for the property.
Flow cabinetry hugs the walls of the kitchen area of the open-plan design, topped with Glacier White Corian worksurfaces for easy-to-clean food preparation zones. The Prices are adventurous cooks, so an appliance bank including two ovens and a microwave is incorporated straight into the handleless cabinetry. Mimicking the uniform effect of the appliances, bespoke black mirror glass panels decorate the fridge and freezer on the other side of the room for a geometric, Art Deco inspired look.
A matching white island forms a centre piece in the space, with a downstand worksurface that flows like a waterfall, continuing the streamlined aesthetic of the design. Diners can sit and watch dinner be prepared on the Miele hob integrated into the worksurface opposite. An integrated wine cooler is a further nod to entertaining.
Extra details give the kitchen those all important finishing touches; featuring caged, pendant lighting over the island along with integrated worktop LEDs for adjustable mood lighting, and stainless steel plinths and coved upstands on all worksurfaces provide an additional mark of quality. Black interior trims on all windows echo the Art Deco influences, for a cohesive open-plan room. The result? A sharp, modern design that will last.
