Choosing a colour for your kitchen is a big decision, as that shade will be in your home for many years to come. Perfectly peachy
The colour that everyone is talking about is Peach Fuzz which was named Pantone’s colour of the year 2024. This warming shade has been described by Pantone as a “warm and cosy shade that presents a fresh approach to a new softness”. They also note that Peach Fuzz has a “vintage vibe, yet has been refashioned with a contemporary ambience”. This trending tone is likely to be adopted in interior design and home décor. In fact, we are already seeing this colour in kitchens used to highlight features such as islands.

Bold burgundy
The warm and rich tones of burgundy, a deep-reddish brown is now appearing in kitchens and looks to become as popular as blue which has recently been dominating kitchen design. Burgundy and berry tones add a cosiness to kitchens, which works particularly well in cottage kitchens or when used as accents. If you embrace bold burgundy, team it with wooden doors or neutral tones to add contrast.

Dramatic black
Black is the go-to shade if you want to add drama and sophistication to your new kitchen. This bold colour may be daring but it is smart and uncomplicated which is why it is proving popular in homes. It works wonders for a monochrome theme or teamed with light worktops and splashbacks – this also helps avoid the room looking too dark.

Naturally neutral
For something more timeless and versatile the new neutrals are colours to consider. Think warming shades of cream, grey, soft pinks, beige and greige which are taking over from bright white. These natural tones are the perfect base colour that will suit any space and can easily be paired with other materials and colours. They also create a soothing and warm environment making your home welcoming and desirable if you do decide to sell.

Blue reigns
Blue remains a ‘must-have’ colour for kitchens this year. Dark navy and inky blues are firm favourites and are often used on cabinet doors for an entire kitchen colour scheme. Brass or gold handles stand-out particularly well against beautiful blues and enhance the rich shade, while wood and light worktops add new textures and differentiation against the boldness of blue.
