Retailer Spotlight: Angel Interiors

We recently had the pleasure of speaking to Abby Fowler at Angel Interiors in Bristol on why they became a Stoneham retailer. The family-run kitchen company has been updating its Stoneham displays and is busy working on a number of Stoneham kitchen projects. Fowler tells us how Stoneham has been received by its customers, while lead interior designer Gabriela Trindade discusses their most memorable project and what is popular in kitchen design right now.

Tell us about Angel Interiors?

Angel Interiors is a family-run business in the picturesque Chew Valley, Bristol. It started with three brothers: Matthew, Jonathan, and Robert Newman, who pooled together their 20 years of experience in carpentry, electrical engineering, fitting and design. The result is a ‘one-stop shop’ for all kitchen and bathroom needs with an expert in house design service.

How long have you been a Stoneham retailer for?
Four years.

Why Stoneham?
We love the fact that Stoneham is an established family business with very similar core values to our own. The luxurious, bespoke, hand-made furniture, by royal appointment, is an exclusive and unique opportunity to offer our clients a quality ‘stand out’ product and service.

What Stoneham ranges have you got in your showroom?
We currently have the Edwardian, Fahrenheit and Pitch ranges from the Avant Garde collection.

What key features do you have on display
We’ve gone bold with a sharp run of black larders incorporating black smoked glass doors on either side to offer symmetry, complemented with a triple layer cornice wrapped round to give a real statement as you enter the showroom. On the second display there is a large chunky island with a big, curved seating area cut into the island. This shows clients an island can be a big functional space with cleverly designed seating in the heart of the kitchen.

What did you want to achieve with the displays?
We wanted to showcase the second to none craftmanship offered by Stoneham. Timeless and elegant with a modern flair appeals perfectly to our clients.

What has the reaction been by customers to Stoneham?
Extremely popular, they can really see the quality of the product. They comment on the innovative design and range of colours, especially as we can colour match to their choice.

What’s been your most memorable kitchen project?
Designing an open plan kitchen/dining area in a new build barn. The bespoke hidden utility was a favourite, feature providing practicality with plenty of storage solutions without compromising on style in the main kitchen area.

What are you finding is popular in kitchen design at the moment?
Clutter free living with appliances hidden away, pantry cupboards as well as wine racks and coolers. We’ve also seen a trend for black cabinetry and walnut timber. Waterfall worktops, especially on islands are popular along with gold and black accessories, such as handles.
