Mother’s Day competition winner cooks up a feast at The Cooking Shed
To celebrate Mother’s Day 2018 we partnered up with BBC1’s Yes Chef! Winner Regan Anderson’s, The Cooking Shed to run a social media competition giving the public a chance to win a private family cooking class. Last week we announced the lucky winner, Simi (@Beckenham_Mummy). We’ve now had the opportunity to catch up with our prize winner to find out about her culinary experience.
On Saturday 10th March 2018, Simi and her two children, friend Louise and her daughter spent the day mixing aromatic flavours to create an exotic dish of Moroccan lamb meatballs, complete with fragrant pomegranate couscous. Cooking connoisseur Regan Anderson led the class allowing the group to put their cooking skills to the test to deliver a mouth-watering meal, which they all got to enjoy at the end of the day.
Everyone had a fun time at the Cooking Shed’s hub in West Wickham, Kent having learnt some new skills and feeling fully accomplished by their Moroccan masterpiece.
“Thank you so much for choosing me as your winner of the Mother’s Day competition with Regan at The Cooking Shed. I shared the experience with a friend and our 3 children aged between 5 & 7 and we had the most wonderful time. Regan is such a talented lady, and right from the start she had us hooked. We chose to cook the Moroccan Meatballs with Pomegranate Couscous, which meant lots of hands-on, squiggy work for the kids to get involved in (which they thoroughly enjoyed). Regan gave us clear instructions throughout and encouraged the kids to touch, smell and taste the ingredients we used. She answered all our questions and has definitely given us the confidence to let the kids help with cooking dinners at home. This is definitely an experience I want to repeat and the food was delicious – I think I may well have a future Michelin star chef in my house!”
