Stoneham have a ball at charity rounders tournament
Here at Stoneham, we got out of the kitchen and onto the playing field last week to compete in a charity rounders tournament, for The Maypole Project. The Stoneham team put in a strong performance in spite of sweltering conditions and tough competition from nine other local businesses. Although every player’s limbs ached the following day, we are proud to have taken part in such a fun event for an excellent cause.
Held at Westcombe Park Rugby Club, all proceeds from the tournament went to charity The Maypole Project, based in Orpington. The charity supports children who have a life threatening or terminal illness from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Offering emotional support to the whole family including siblings and grandparents, The Maypole Project aids more than 250 babies, children and young people and their families across South East London.
“We all ran our socks off but we had a great time,” said Adrian Stoneham, Managing Director at Stoneham. “It always feels good to give back to the local community, especially through a fantastic charity like The Maypole Project. The team felt a bit tender afterwards but we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.”
